Sample text for the Artea template: replace it with your own and have a lawyer review it before publishing.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Artea. They apply from the moment you open an account and cover the app, your cards, transfers and your plan. Together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, they’re everything we’ve agreed with you.
The money in your account is held by our regulated partner banks. Their account terms are shown to you during sign-up and apply alongside these.
Opening an account
To open an account you must be at least 18, live in a country Artea supports, and verify your identity with a photo of your ID and a selfie. Each person can hold one personal account. We may decline an application, and if we do, we’ll tell you, unless the law prevents it.
Business accounts are for registered companies and sole traders. The person who opens one confirms they’re authorised to act for the business.
Plans and fees
Every fee is shown before you confirm a payment. Plan fees work like this:
- Basic has no monthly fee and no minimum balance.
- Plus and Business are billed monthly or yearly. The fee is taken from your Artea balance on the same day each period, and we remind you three days before.
- Upgrades start immediately. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- If you cancel a yearly plan within 14 days of paying, we refund it in full.
Cards and payments
Your physical and virtual cards are issued to you for your own use and stay our property. You can set limits, freeze a card or cancel it in the app at any time.
Transfers to other Artea users are instant. Before you confirm any transfer, check the recipient’s details: once a payment has gone to the details you entered, we can’t reverse it, though we’ll help you try to recover it.
Keeping your account safe
We protect your account with biometric login, device binding and real-time alerts, and we need your help too:
- Keep your passcode and card PIN secret, and never share them with anyone, including us.
- Don’t let anyone else use your phone to access Artea.
- Freeze your card straight away if it’s lost or stolen.
- Report any payment you don’t recognise from its detail screen as soon as you notice it.
Unauthorised payments
If a payment was made without your permission, we’ll refund it by the end of the next working day after you report it, unless we have good reason to believe you acted fraudulently or were seriously careless with your security details.
Where a payment went wrong because of a mistake on our side, we’ll put your account back to how it would have been if the mistake hadn’t happened.
Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from Settings. Move your balance to another bank account first; any plan fee you’ve already paid is handled as described in Plans and fees.
We can close your account with 60 days’ notice. We can suspend it or close it straight away if we suspect fraud, if you’ve seriously broken these terms, or if the law requires it, and we’ll tell you why unless we’re not allowed to.
Changes, complaints and contact
We’ll tell you about any change to these terms in the app and by email at least 60 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can close your account free of charge before then.
If something goes wrong, contact us in the app or at hello@artea.example. We reply within a day and aim to resolve complaints within 15 working days. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can take it to the independent dispute-resolution service in your country.
