What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so it can remember you between pages and visits. Similar technologies, such as local storage and the software kits inside our app, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.

This policy applies to artea.example and to signing in to Artea on the web.

Strictly necessary cookies

These keep the website working and your account secure, so they can’t be switched off. They don’t track you across other websites.

  • artea_session keeps you signed in and is deleted when you close your browser.
  • artea_csrf protects forms against requests from other websites and is deleted when you close your browser.
  • artea_device recognises a device you’ve trusted, as part of our fraud checks, and lasts 12 months.
  • artea_consent remembers your cookie choices and lasts 12 months.

Analytics cookies

With your consent, we count visits, see which pages people use and measure how quickly they load. We look at this data only in aggregate, never alongside your account or transactions, and keep it for 13 months.

Marketing cookies

With your consent, we use a small number of cookies to find out which of our campaigns bring people to Artea, so we spend less on the ones that don’t work.

We never use your balance, transactions or any other banking data for advertising, and we never share it with advertising partners.

Managing your choices

We only set optional cookies with your consent, and nothing beyond the strictly necessary ones is set until you give it. You can change your mind at any time:

  • In the app, from Settings → Privacy.
  • In your browser, by blocking or deleting cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in from working.
  • By emailing hello@artea.example, and we’ll update your choices for you.

Changes and questions

If we add a new type of cookie, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent again where it’s needed. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
